Bubulcus & Bolotas is all about nature and sustainability.
In the middle of an untouched mediterranean landscape with holm oak (Évora, Alentejo, Portugal), it offers a campground with lots of space and well separated pitches, where you can stay with your own camping gear or at our fully equipped caravan or tent-for-rent. On another part of the terrain, you can also choose for our self catering offgrid holiday home, with private terrace. Whatever your choice, contact us before for reservation!
Not sure if we are what you are looking for? How about trying our compatibility test?
There is a lot to do and experience in the terrain itself but we also have suggestions get to know the surroundings by car, on foot or by bicycle.
We leave nature untouched. Electricity is 100% solar powered and all illumination is LED. Rain water is collected and stored for later use, and hot water is solar heated. Heating uses either wood from cleanups or self-made waste paper brickets and the heated buildings have a high thermal insulation. Obviously, waste streams are separated. Find out more on eco and nature at Bubulcus & Bolotas (curious on the origin of the name?), but also about us and our drive.
Alentejo is a region shaped by nature and tradition, an extensive essentially rural area and sparsely populated. Here you can still find untouched Mediterranean forests with oaks and shrubs. It is in such a landscape that we are, in a style that preserves the tranquillity and the feeling of being in the middle of nature. You can find us close to Vimieiro (Arraiolos, Évora).
